ASP.NET MVC a developers dream?

It took it’s time in coming to the market, I can remember playing with prerelease versions over a year ago now. ASP.NET MVC is there and I have to say it is good.

Well integrated in visual studio and teeming with unit test goodies this is the sort of evolution we have been waiting a long time for from Microsoft. After being a nuts and bolts developer for a long time, I had drifted away from development skipped the senior roles which had always been my dream job and started project management. But then lo and behold two technologies converge and everything looks different. LINQ and MVC is a match made in heaven and one could devote and entire language to those points alone but those backed up with a strong and mature language like .net, no wonder it is becoming easier to convert java devs over.

I do see a danger in that simplicity and as has always been an issue with Microsoft languages any idiot can install visual studio and call his/herself a developer. But then again didn't we all start like that?
I like the new openness Microsoft is showing the .net community, Guthrie and Hanselman hats off to you guys, they have kept me hooked and it is the type of community minded approach Microsoft should do more of!
